A Canyon Lake Community Christmas
The Canyon Lake area’s Christmas season festivities will be highlighted at the Community Resource and Recreation Center’s (CRRC’s) new Resource Center on FM 2673 in Sattler. Caroling, a nativity scene, goodie bags for the kiddies and the “ho, ho, ho” of Santa will all be part of the outdoor event, scheduled for Saturdays, Dec 12 and 19, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The 2020 Christmas festivities will feature a drive-through celebration, with vehicles entering the site from Old Sattler Rd and weaving through a well-lit, highly decorated cruising path around the new Resource Center. All traffic will exit onto FM 2673.
It’s rumored Santa will be attending! There will be carolers from local churches and organizations, as well as a Country Store selling seasonal gift items. Anyone exiting their vehicle will be asked to wear protective masks, in deference to COVID-19 safety recommendations.
The trail of lights will also feature a giant Christmas tree, decorations, and perhaps an elf or two.
“We look forward to sharing the wonders of Christmas with our incredible community,” said Jason Derscheid, new executive director. “Please join us as we celebrate the fun and wonders of our Canyon Lake Community Christmas 2020.”
CRRC, which typically sponsors the incredibly popular North Pole Village at the Recreation Center, decided not to hold the annual event in response to concerns about COVID-19. It is expected that the annual North Pole Village event will return in 2021.
